If you want to host your own morning tea, here are some simple ways to raise some money for this great cause.

 

Fundraising Ideas

• Entry fee
Charge your guests an entry fee to attend your event, but let them know that it’s all going towards great cause!

• Online
For those who cant attend your morning tea but still want join in, set up online account which allows them to make a donation.

• Auction
Gather up some donated items to sell off to the highest bidder. If you can’t get hold of any items, get your friends to donate their skills and expertise!

• Raffles and competitions
The good old fashioned way of fundraising. Sell tickets to everyone you know, even if they can’t attend or get people to guess how many jellybeans are in the jar.

• Recipe book
Collect all your favourite recipes and put them together in a book that you can then sell to family, friends and colleagues. Why not ask others to share their all time favourites too?

• Match dollar for dollar
If you are holding a morning tea at your work, as you company to get on board and match whatever funds you raise.

Easy peasy cupcake recipe

Makes 12

Ingredients

Cupcakes                                                   Icing

- 2 cups self-raising flour, sifted                - 1 1/2 cups pure icing sugar
- 3/4 cup caster sugar                               - Food colouring, optional
- 3/4 cup milk                                             - 1 1/2 tablespoons water
- 125g butter, melted, cooled
- 2 x 59g eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
- Sprinkles and lollies, to decorate

Method

1.Preheat oven to 200°C. Grease a 12 x 1/3-cup capacity muffin pan. Alternatively, line holes with paper cases. Combine flour and caster sugar in a bowl. Make a well in the centre.
2.Add milk, butter, eggs and vanilla to flour mixture. Using a large metal spoon, stir gently to combine
3.Spoon mixture into prepared muffin pan. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean. Stand in pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool.
4.Make icing: Sift icing sugar into a bowl. Add food colouring and water. Stir until smooth and well combined. Spoon icing over cupcakes. Decorate with sprinkles and lollies.
