We take a look at some of the new models looking to make a splash in the New Year!
2014 Toyota Corolla Sedan
The all new Corolla Sedan is set to be released in June 2014, sitting alongside the top-selling hatch version. The revised edition will have an edgier design than its conservative predecessor, based on the Furia concept from the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. The 2014 remake is also set to be bigger and quieter than the previous model.
Alfa Romeo 4C
Central to Alfa Romeo repositioning themselves as a dedicated sportscar maker, the new Alfa Romeo 4C is expected to make its Australian debut in April 2014. The lightweight, mid-engine coupe will have a kerb weight of less than 850kg, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in less than five seconds. Impressive!
The new Mazda2 is scheduled to undergo a major facelift, with the 2014 model scheduled for an Australian release in mid-2014. A revised construction will reduce the car’s weight, and the design will reflect that of the Mazda6, CX-5 and Mazda3. Standard features will include satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity.
2014 Nissan Leaf
Nissan’s all electric car is set to get a makeover around March 2014, with the Leaf’s driving range increasing from 200km to 228km. This has been achieved through fitting a streamlined battery module and replacing old components with lighter ones. The 2014 edition will also feature a Bose sound system, and is 80kg lighter than the previous model.
2015 Ford Territory
Expected to be released in December 2014, little is known about the updated Ford Territory. It will be the last big SUV made in Australia to carry the nameplate, with plans to internationally source future models later this decade. The 2015 update is rumoured to feature radical styling changes and performance tweaks.
