1. none of these cars are Australian - we do not have an Australian Auto Industry - they never gave us Aussies a chance. 2. the cars all resemble each other - spot the difference - if you can. 3. over production due to incorrect global & national population figures & population growth figures - they are making cars for people who were never born & never will be born. 4. for decades they have had the know how to build eco-friendly cars & they have not - instead we built petrol guzzlers - shame on them. 5. CONCEPT CARS - people need cheap - eco-friendly - sports cars - THE LOOK ONLY - IMAGE - THE PLEASURE & FUN OF OWNING A GREAT LOOKING CAR. e.g. Lotus Europa i6 Concept car 2010 e.g. Magna Styer Mila on the road in body only - certainly not in horsepower. They would sell like hot cakes. How many of these beautiful looking cars never made it - & why not ?Who were they saving the designs for . ? THEIR LOSS - THE AUTO MAKERS WILL ALL GO BROKE SOON - WAIT & SEE. To subsidize a company means it is not viable therefore it is safe to conclude that the company is being mis-managed & should not be in business - period.

This is true that LPG has some great characteristics which distinguished it from Petrol. Like it is very cost effective and sustainable in using this. we should use LPG becouse it is less pricy than other fuels LPG Conversion

Not sure what is so "tame" about the grill? The pictured vehicle is a G6 not an XT, the G6 looks great and I dont think it needs a facelift at all however the XT is pretty drab. In terms of teh car overall they drive well, look good, and the cost savings are great. I put one of my 6000km per month reps into one of these a few months back and have saved around $6000.00 in fuel already- and the car is bigger and more comfy than the Mondeo he was driving before. Only down side is the boot space if you choose a full sixe/space saver spare. Brilliant car in my opinion. I have a 2012 model XR6 . Of the 90 cars my family and I have owned over almost 50 years of driving this is the stand out car by light years. It wins hands down on every criterion I have used . My son, an avid holden buyer for almost 25 years thinks that this is the best car he has driven as well. I also like the exterior styling and the aerodynamic shape. Of course if you are stupid enough to judge a car by its external appearance ( within reason) then you deserve to be paying way more for your travelling than I do. This huge family car which averages 700 to 800 Km per week doing about 50/50 city/highway driving averages 12.3 litres of lpg per 100 km. At current costs of about 56 cents per litre find me a a reason not to buy it. I couldn't. Totally agree Fred U sound a wise old codger. U do know its got hi compression & other good stuff - its factory built for this fuel system - wonderful An almost ignored but killer factor is the lack of range anxiety 750km on a tank in the bush A cabchassis w/ 2 extra tank would make an awsome grey nomad tug. Or even the sedan if u forget the boot - not so bad if u have a van Is a rumour the lpi is detuned so as not to embarrass the petrol falconn too much Not my thing, but imagine turbo on it? Standard kit for the same engine in petrol or was - even a supercharged one i think. What a bunch of noughts we skips have become The lpi is the best car on the market & they are going broke to either rubbish or absurdly expensive stuff Interesting to see comparative figures of what other inline 6 cylinders stats are - bmw/toyota/nissan - sounds to me lpi would be right up there & its all OZ engineering - as in final product (lpi is dutch i think) could go on and on - perhaps i have already i reckon new cars are a mugs game - but this ones got me in

With the strong Aussie dollar your regular Japanese and Australian car buyers have ventured into the European new car showrooms boosting European carmakers share of the market. In the next few years these European Marques will begin to come out of their warranty period and the horror stories will surface about the extreme high price of parts and repairs. The European car sales will dramatically decline as there new customers they worked so hard to attract scurry back to the safety of the much cheaper to maintain and repair Japan and Australian cars. Of course Eurpean car makers could stop this by doing what they did to sell there new cars which is meet the market on price for maintenance and repairs. Unless they have learnt there lesson from years ago and make there part prices competitive they will again withdraw from the great summer land because Australian's won't tolerate uncompetitive pricing.  I agree with peter on the foreign car parts issue, they look attractive but when it comes to parts, they are not party. The young rich job holders will buy expensive European cars and pay through their noses for parts and smile but the next time they would buy a Local or a Japanese car preferably a reliable, cheap to maintain Toyota, or Mazda (or Honda, or for small and quick Suzuki{nosier after one year} and not Mitsubishi) Toyota would definitely hold a position in 2012 and all the years to come, given some of us have grown in them, would want them in any shape or size, I strongly believe and suggest people to buy Holdens, because they are Australian cars, parts are friendly and that Commodore on road is definitely a head turner! BMW will sell regardless of we think. China will come up with solutions that will haunt me when I get old, they will catch up and kill KIA, Daewoo, Hyundai etc Toyota will still live If you want to become number one, this is what consumers want: Reliable, dependable strong car to run, cheap to maintain and serve us years and still look nice enough to pass as a decent car to be seen in. The USA action with Cuba is an embargo - not a blockade!! Any country other than the USA can do business with Cuba including selling them their new cars. The fact that Cuba has a lot of old cars on the road is attributable to the low average income of those within the Cuban economy. Low income means no disposable income for new car purchases more than anything other factor. The Cuban economy has not kept pace with the world economy and a new car is simply financially out of reach of nearly all. The article doesn't mention that Cubans are incapable of purchasing new vehicles as a result of their economic isolation, only that they tend not to. I don't think you would disagree that one of the knock on effects of the embargo is lower incomes which lead to lots of old school cars.
